North Publishing is carbon friendly

North Publishing is a carbon friendly Australian publishing company. The North Publishing team make a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint. We are not environmental purists but believe if we all do something we can make a big difference.

As ebook and print publishers we are aware of our responsibility to reduce greenhouse gas and take seriously environmental issues. We aim to reduce our carbon emissions, to minimize our carbon footprint and the environmental impact of our business. We believe environmental protection and reducing greenhouse gases is something we can all be involved in. Carbon trading and emissions trading may be out of reach of some but carbon reduction of co2 emissions is achievable for everyone.

Some of environmental things we are already doing right:

Hard copy books are printed on Certified Sustainable Forestry paper stock
Offer an environmental friendly ebook option
Use 100% renewable energy for both the company office and the business owners personal residence
Recycle our office paper and waste
Installed LED lighting in the office
Purchased Eco friendly Lanier photo copier and printing solutions
Use 100% recycled or sustainable copier paper
Installed LPG on the main business vehicle
Purchase recycled stationary where possible
Use energy saving modes on computer equipment where possible
Complete an annual audit to offset our emissions and improve our behaviour

Some of the things we are working on improving:

Still looking for appropriate professional looking recycled envelopes
Second car requires to be down sized or have a gas conversion
Quite often forget to get the recycled loo paper!!

North Publishing takes seriously the threat of co2 emission and aims to be carbon neutral through carbon offset programs and taking action to reduce carbon footprint.
